This introductory year is designed to build confidence, enjoyment and familiarity with Arabic, helping interested students prepare for further study.
Children can then consider progressing to our Flagship Six-Year Arabic Programme, with its longer-term focus on understanding the language of the Noble Quran.

For children aged 9 and above
- Boys and girls are welcome.
- No previous study of Arabic is required.
- Children should be ready to participate in live lessons.
- Families considering longer-term Arabic study are very welcome.
Children can ask questions, respond and take part in discussions.
Enjoyable practice and shared learning throughout the year.
Bring a notebook and pen; the focus is on learning through lessons.
Recordings are available for up to one year to help children catch up.
MEET OUR HEADTEACHER
Learning with Shaykh Baber Pervez
Shaykh Baber Pervez has over 15 years of experience teaching Arabic and has taught hundreds of students of different ages and abilities. He founded Junior Arabist and previously directed the Arabic Gap Year Programme.
He is passionate about connecting Arabic language learning with spirituality and the Islamic sciences, while encouraging children to enjoy studying in a friendly and supportive environment.

Frequently asked questions
Does my child need to know any Arabic?
No. The course is suitable for beginners aged 9 and above. Children will gradually build their vocabulary and conversational confidence.
When do lessons take place?
Lessons are held on scheduled Sundays from 10 January to 19 December 2027, in either the 10:00–11:30 am or 1:00–2:30 pm UK-time group. Please refer to the official timetable for term breaks.
Is the £45 deposit an additional charge?
No. The £45 payment made when registering covers the first monthly instalment of your child’s course fees. It is followed by 11 monthly payments of £45 starting 28 January 2027.
Can I get my £45 initial payment back if I change my mind?
Yes. The initial £45 payment is fully refundable if you cancel before the course starts on 10 January 2027. Please contact Junior Arabist to request the refund and cancel any PayPal subscription to stop further payments.
What is the discount for siblings?
Each additional child registered from the same household receives 50% off course fees. For example, two children would cost £67.50 per monthly instalment in total.
Will recordings be available?
Yes. Lessons are delivered live and recorded, with recordings available for up to one year so students can catch up if they miss a session.
Will my child have homework?
There is no homework to submit. Children should simply have a notebook and pen ready for lessons and activities.
What is the 50% progression refund?
An offer for a 50% refund of Intro Course fees is available when your child goes on to join the Six-Year Arabic Programme, subject to the offer conditions. This is different from the refundable £45 initial payment. You can request the official brochure for more information.
